A Message of Support from Golden Apple

The Golden Apple Foundation stands with all who are impacted by racial injustice. 

We are devastated by what we bore witness to...and what the Black members of our community have endured for generations.  Generations of racial and social injustice have created an intolerable normal for the Black community. And that is a normal that we do not and will never accept.  Black lives do matter, every single one. Until that is realized, we will work alongside those who work for justice.

Our greatest strength lies within the people we serve - and the students whom our Scholars, members of the Academy, Accelerators, and staff serve as teachers and leaders throughout the State of Illinois. 

Educators are central to building a more equitable world.  We know that many of you have been working, volunteering, donating to, and supporting the efforts to obtain racial justice. 

As leaders, and as an organization, we know that we do not have all of the answers. We are, however, looking in the mirror to reflect upon how we as an organization can improve and strengthen to support the entire Golden Apple community.
