Staff Announcement - April 22, 2019
Today, we are pleased to share with you that Rozy Patel, a 2014 Golden Apple Fellow, will be joining the Golden Apple staff as the Manager of Mentoring, effective May 1st.
Rozy will support the Director of Mentoring, Kesa Thurman Stovall, in providing an effective mentoring program that supports the professional growth of Mentors and their Mentees, Golden Apple Scholars, in their first years of teaching.
Rozy comes to Golden Apple from Chicago Public Schools (CPS), where she has taught and lead in various STEM roles for 10 years. The majority of her tenure was spent at Edgebrook Elementary School as a 7th and 8th grade Science Teacher. As a product of CPS herself, Rozy is passionate about supporting the next generation of great teachers. She has contributed to global and national education initiatives, and brings a deep knowledge of instructional best practices to this role. As a Golden Apple Fellow, Rozy has engaged with the Scholars’ program previously, as a Scholar Institute Reflective Leader.
Rozy is currently pursuing her Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. She holds a Masters of Arts in Teaching from National Louis University, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from DePaul University.
